Flashback...August 08, 1974/ President Nixon Resigns

Author's mundane life before being 'recruited in the ASC' President Ford Administration

Tonight, on my new RCA color 19" television i watched President Nixon give his resignation speach at the White House. After his speach the news media showed a large crowd of demonstrators (mob) cheering outside the White House and in the nearby park. How sad i thought, our country is being torn apart, and those "morons" are cheering. That night i "realized" that 'mob rule' can be fueled by a few seditious journalists or a seditious press, inciting the mass of men to revolution, anarchy and downfall of a government, is'nt that how our country was born ? If so, why not its death also ?

Author's note: Updated later to the early 1990s, the media 'press' incited and caused the downfall of the Soviet Union, by 'inciting' the mass mob to anarchy in Russia...

President Nixon may have stepped over the line, with 'Watergate' but no more than some other U.S. Presidents, he served our country "honorably" for the better part of his public career. My mood was "solemn" for the rest of the evening, my country was bleeding and i could feel it...later that hot August evening i packed my lunch, to start my night work shift at Kohler Company, enameling red hot cast iron bathtubs far into the night...
Author's personal afterthoughts: For future generations... without sounding paranoid let it be known that the press, and some 'pro communist' biased journalists of this time, were "out to get" President Nixon, to 'slander' his character for his involvement with the Senator McCarthy 'Investigations' on communist activities in the Senate Subcommittee on Investigations on 'Un-American Activities' in the 1950's...

The press is "not" a fourth branch of government, which 'some' journalists believe, as the press are composed of unelected men prone to liberal and sometimes seditious political biases and need to be monitored for such seditious activities....
