Gulf War 1991

GULF WAR/January 12, 1991
Army National Guard Aviation Center/Stockton, California.

My regular duty shift at the Flight Center runs from 0000-0800 hrs., my position is security enforcement officer. Colonel North the site commander has put all personnel and security on "high alert" due to the beginning air invasion of Iraq shortly, authorized by President Bush the elder.

Was notified by army intelligence of possible terrorist sabotage to the facility and possible sabotage to the fully armed AH-64 Apache helicopters parked on site airfield, due to the scheduled start of 'Operation Desert Storm'. Was advised to carry 'extra rounds' of ammo for my S. & W. 357 magnum revolver and to stop 'cold' any potential terrorists, who attempt entry...
I was well trained in anti-terrorist tactics and fully prepared and ready to lay down my life for my country if necessary...
