Today i received a hand written note from former President Jimmy Carter in the U.S. mail, in the note the former president thanked me for my past support to the Carter Center, the note read: "Together we are building hope each day for the world's poorest people as we work to wage peace & fight disease. Thank you for your support"... Rosalynn & Jimmy Carter... i'm pleased that the former President takes the time to write me, as "really" in my view i'm a nobody, but in his vast wisdom he knows beyond, i only "wish" every human alive had his wisdom and goodness... Also this afternoon after a few drinks, i watched on DVD for the first time, Elvis Presley's "rehersal concert" taped live for his opening Aloha from Hawaii television special, the concert taped live on January 12, 1973 in Hawaii... it seems only like "yesterday" to see the "king" on this previously unseen concert version video on my television screen, i miss him and the 1970"s, but time ticks on...
LOG ENTRY DATE: (September 13, 2009) Today after reviewing my received post mail for the week, I read a letter from Rosalynn Carter, former "First Lady" the President's wife. In the letter the former first lady asked that i renew my annual support for the Carter Center. The "first lady" also enclosed a birthday card for me to sign and write a short note for President Carter, since his birthday will be on October 1, 2009, the former President will turn 85 years old. Needless to say i "obliged" the first lady on both accounts...
