Afghanistan/Another Vietnam ?

Today on the internet i read a disturbing AP story about a Taliban suicide bomber attacking a NATO convoy outside Kabul, killing at least eight people, hours after mortar rounds struck near the presidential palace, the militants making good on their promise to sow mayhem in the run-up to Afghanistan's presidential election... I fear the worst, "another" Vietnam type war, ultimately it will be the Afghanistan people who will decide their type or form of government, not the United States... As a former ASC member my suggestion to the Obama Administration is a war of "containment" keeping the terrorists down or at bay by using "Predator" remote control attack aircraft. Keep U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan at a fortified expanded base in Kabul and the south. This stategy will save both U.S. and NATO human life, expanding the war as Obama is in the process of doing, will make U.S. troops,"sitting ducks" waiting to be slaughtered. President Lyndon Johnson found out the hard way by his expanding the Vietnam War, the financial cost also choked out his "Great American Society" dream, i hope President Obama sees the light...
