Flashback...March 30,1981/President Reagan shot...

Today i had the day off, so i drove to nearby Lodi spent some time in the central park, latter that morning before heading back to Stockton i stopped in a Lodi tavern to have a few drinks. While sitting at the bar counter in the tavern, a "special news announcement" flashed on the taverns mounted television above the counter, announcing that President Reagan had just been shot by a would-be assassin and was being rushed to the hospital, escorted by the secret service..."no not again" i thought. Because President Reagan's political optimism was our country's best medicine and i knew it, compared to the previous disasterous President Carter years. My mood was solemn for the rest of the day, needless to say, President Reagan recovered...
